There are rumors that actually make the day traders feel bad. These hearsays point out that there is no money in day trading. Such a fallacy! Of course, these gossips have alerted the individuals who are surely making lots of profit from the said course of trade. At this point in time, stocks, futures, forex, options, and currencies can be traded by almost any individual. Overall, there are people who can prove that there really is money with day trading.

The trading market generally involves a lot of complications. If you as the day trader will not exercise some caution in trading with several companies, you may be positively going all the way to your own generated pitfall. You are also then obligated to come up with a solid foundation in line with the strategies that you will have to employ as you go through the process of trading.

But if you're just dabbling, trying something here and something there, devoting only a passive interest to your trading, you're asking for trouble. Because all you've got is a hobby. And hobbies are cost centers, not profit centers. If you treat trading like a hobby, you'll get the same results that hobbies bring.

And, by the same token, if you treat your trading like a successful business, you'll get business results. Successful businesses bring profits to the owners on a consistent basis, year after year.

Same thing if you trade for entertainment, then you're really not taking it seriously. Entertainment doesn't include much planning beyond when you're going to do something, and at what cost. If that's your idea of trading, good luck. Just make sure to keep trading in your expense column.

Attending a seminar about stock trading can at least provide you with the basic knowledge that might prove useful in the future. One-hour or two-hour lectures are good enough to provide attendees with the knowledge of how stock exchanges operate and what financial instruments can be used for investing. The good thing about seminars is that most of them are for free. The bad thing is that it you don't really get all the details on the complicated world of trading in just one or two hours.

Specifically, you start out by trading your own capital and teaching yourself what works. You can open an account with a spread-betting firm or retail futures brokerage, or there are trading "arcades" out there that will set you up with the tech support, trading platforms, office space, and equipment you need; you'll pay monthly fees to do this, but the benefit is to be able to trade at much lower cost than if you tried to do this with a retail broker from home, and the added advantage is that you are sharing an office surrounded by other, more experienced traders.

With this particular set up, you're not an employee and instead are seen as a "customer" by the firm. You won't get a paycheck or "draw", likely, but you will get to keep most of your trading profits. Another alternative to this is that you go in on a "traders co-op," in which you and other experienced traders share overhead costs like equipment and office space, but trade entirely on your own capital otherwise.
